{"case":{"id":"o3sa67kybqg5","prompt":"I need to have a hard conversation with my manager about asking for more flexible hours. What I want out of it: a clear yes or a trial period.\n\n1. Help me write my opening in two or three calm sentences that say what I need without blaming anyone.\n2. List the three most likely reactions I'll get (including one tough one) and a short, honest reply I could give to each.\n3. Then role-play the other person. Stay realistic, not a pushover, and match the tone of polite but firm. Keep each of your turns short so it feels like a real talk. I'll type my side.\n4. After 6 back-and-forths, step out of the role and give me feedback: what landed, where I got defensive or vague, and one line I should reuse.\n5. Finish with a one-card cheat sheet: my opening, my key ask, my fallback, and a polite way to end the talk if it goes badly.\n\nDon't contact anyone for me. This is practice only.","createdAt":"2026-10-18T13:19:51.353Z","upvotes":33,"title":"Rehearse a hard conversation before you have it","tag":"work","apps":[],"template":"I need to have a hard conversation with {{who: my manager|a roommate|a family member|a neighbor}} about {{topic: asking for more flexible hours}}.
